While the company has only one location in Chandler, at 55 E Ray Road, the family-owned restaurant is getting ready for multiple new locations. First, the company, founded by Gamaliel Garfio and his wife, Maria, will open a second location in the former home of K-38 Beach Mex Cantina in Chandler at 1155 Ocotillo Rd Ste #1. Garfio confirmed with What Now Phoenix that their son, Chef Gabriel, will own and operate this location and is expected to open by May 20 with an identical menu.

In addition to the new Chandler location, Garfio informs What Now the company is in the midst of opening a few more locations Taqueria Factory and the couple’s other business, Frutilandia. First, Garfio’s will franchise with the Edward Valdez and Bri Garfio opening a new dual-brand location in Arizona Mills in the former 5 and Diner space in Tempe at 5025 S Arizona Mills Cir. This site, which will feature both concepts and the company’s first-ever drive-thru, is expected to open in mid-June 2023. The two will also add taquerias to two Frutilandia locations in Mesa at 1011 S. Gilbert Road and 351 N. Country Club Drive, both expected to open in August or September 2023.

While Valdez and Garfio own the Fruitlandia on Gilbert Road, some locations will be franchised to other family members, including Edward’s parents, Edgard and Xochitl Valdez. All locations will feature an incredible menu that marries tradition and innovation with plenty of delicious drinks. While Taqueria Factory only has one location at the moment, Frutilandia has nine locations. If this model proves successful, customers could see many more taco options near Frutilandias. Franchises are available for both brands.

“What has everyone talking about Taqueria Factory is their unique focus on quality, made-from-scratch salsas, guacamole, marinating their own meats, no preservatives, and corn tortillas, therefore, being able to offer a true authentic taco,” according to Gamaliel Garfio. “Another important thing to point out is their real fruit margaritas are not only refreshing but are truly delicious. Also, their Micheladas are magnificent, they prepare their secret mix using a family recipe fresh every morning.”
